Icon Home Entertainment have announced the UK DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Transsiberian on 2nd March 2009. Directed by Brad Anderson, this Hitchcock-inspired thriller follows an American couple travelling from Beijing to Moscow on the legendary Trans-Siberian Express train. Roy (Woody Harrelson), a naive train enthusiast, and his wife, Jessie (Emily Mortimer), an amateur photographer with a dark past, set out on a journey of a lifetime after completing a mission trip in Beijing. Along the way, the two find themselves sharing a cabin with another couple, Carlos and Abby (Eduardo Noriega and Kate Mara), who are not what they appear. Unwittingly, Roy and Jessie are caught in a web of lies, drugs and murder as they become targets of an investigation by an ex-KGB detective (Ben Kingsley).
Available on DVD (£17.99 RRP) and Blu-ray Disc (RRP TBC), extras include cast and crew interviews and deleted scenes. On DVD the film is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with English DD2.0 stereo and DD5.1 Surround. DTS is also listed but we suspect that is the audio format on the Blu-ray Disc, for which AV specs and region coding are TBC.
