Fox Home Entertainment have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of Donnie Darko on 10th February 2009 priced at $34.99 SRP. Directed by Richard Kelly, Donnie Darko stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a delusional high school student who is visited by a demonic rabbit with eerie visions of the past and deadly predictions for the future.

The Blu-ray Disc release is a two-disc set with the following features...

Disc 1: Main Feature - A 50GB Dual-Layer disc authored in BD-J with AVC (MPEG4) compression, features include:
  • 1080P 2.35:1 Widescreen
  • English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio
  • French and Spanish 2.0
  • English, French and Spanish subtitles
  • Theatrical (113mins) & Director’s Cut (133mins) versions
  • Commentary with Writer/Director Richard Kelly and Jake Gyllenhaal (Theatrical Version)
  • Commentary with Cast and Crew (Theatrical)
  • Commentary with Writer/Director Richard Kelly and Kevin Smith (Director’s Cut)
  • D-Box

Disc 2: SD Extra Features - A standard definition DVD with extras that include a Donnie Darko Production Diary with optional commentary by director of photography Steven Poster, “They Made Me Do It Too—The Cult Of Donnie Darko,” a storyboard to screen featurette, “#1 Fan: A Darkomentary” and the director’s cut theatrical trailer.

Region coding is TBC.

This will be mine.

I think I'm one of the few people who had no problem with the DC. I found it just as confusing.

Something that annoys me about the DC, is that on one of the bits where a page of the time travel book is onscreen, it doesn't stay long enough for you to read it all! It's just one of the pages, maybe the water themed one, and it annoys me every single time.

Lovely. Used to own both versions on DVD, didn't really like the DC but the presentation of the film was a lot better than the Prism release.
