Universal Studios Home Entertainment have announced the US DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of Pirate Radio on 13th April 2010. Known as The Boat That Rocked in the UK, Richard Curtis directs this British comedy about a bunch of ramshackle DJs who play rock & pop 24hrs a day, broadcasting from Radio Rock, an infamous pirate radio ship in the North Sea. On board arrives 18 year old Carl, who is instantly plunged into a series of hilarious life-changing adventures and misadventures.
The US version of the film has a running time of 1hr 57mins which is considerably shorter than the UK release which clocked in at 2hrs 15mins.

FYI:
The US release has been re-edited (cut by 15 minuttes!!!) and the music changed.
I would stick to the Region 2 UK version.

Nonetheless, I'm a bit surprised they didn't use the original cut to go for some Extended Edition marketing on this.
