Nah, it's not just you - this is a very short window between theatrical and home release. I'd expect a short window on flops like Ninja Assassin but Sherlock Holmes has done (is doing) pretty well.

Wow! That is REALLY fast, especially when its still doing pretty well in cinemas.

No commentary from Ritchie is a disappointment; unusual from him.

Along the same lines I suppose, and possibly the PinP as well. But only on the BluRay. Nothing for us loyal DVD buyers it seems. So no traditional commentary, which have been pretty standard for Ritchie in the past.

Originally a 2 disc DVD was mentioned here. Has that been cancelled?

Are they waiting for the sequel to bring out a bells-and-whistles edition, do you think?

The 2-Disc DVD we're no longer too sure about. Prior to the official announcement from Warner we got 3 listings - DVD, DVD SE & Blu-ray - so that's what we went with. The the announcement came through and it only lists DVD and Blu-ray, so we removed the 2-Disc info pretty quickly.

But. The 2-Disc listing is still there and now there is even cover-art for it, but there is still no price and lots of weird info - eg. the year is listed as 2010 which is wrong, and the back cover carries a Region 2 logo and is incomplete with space to insert country specific legal blurb.

So, the short version is I think they've either a) messed up and its a non-US 2-disc release or b) it's a US retailer exclusive that we don't have the full details for yet.

FWIW here are the specs and art:

Disc 1: Main Feature
-Anamorphic Widescreen
- English, French (Canadian) and Spanish DD5.1 Surround
- English, French and Spanish subtitles
- Trailer

Disc 2: Extras
- Sherlock Holmes: Reinvented
-- Drawbridges and Dollies: Designing a Late Victorian London
-- Not a Deerstalker Cap in Sight
-- Ba-ritsu: A Tutorial
-- Elementary English: Perfecting Sherlock’s Accent
-- Powers of Observation and Deduction
-- And More!

Thanks, DaveF!

Perhaps Warners rushed this so much they've confused themselves! Still doesn't look like a lot for a 2 disc, if it happens. Less substance than some of Ritchie's single discs.

I still think they might be "pulling a Bond" and reserving a really good release to coincide with SH2 (I so hope they don't just call it that).

I want to know if the DVD in the Blur-Ray & DVD pack has all the extra special features as the Blu-Ray? I love the extras in DVD's and am bummed that the Blu-Ray & DVD pack is the only one that has it. I don't have blu-ray yet but will buy that dvd set if the regular DVD has all the extras. If you know if it does or not that would be super helpful. thanks.
